Its late afternoon on a Thursday. You are sitting on your last call of the day looking excitedly to the evening. Its already been a long week dealing with the tasks and demands of your work inbox. You are officially walking the fine line between lack of motivation and workplace burnout.
Suddenly your boss emails you with a last-minute demand and puts an 8 AM call on your calendar in the morning
You simply can’t stomach working another 2 hours tonight to meet the last-minute deadline and hop right back on a call first thing in the morning.
“How does anyone have the energy to sustain this?”
Your motivation is next to none but with an angry attitude, you continue working to fulfill the request.
You finally finish up, head home and get ready for bed.
Tossing and turning all night, you fear that your lack of motivation is starting to show and your performance will be affected.
Now, you are dreading waking up to start the working day all over again.
Welcome to workplace burnout.
Ladies, you are not alone.
As women, we have been given opportunities, especially in the last 30 years to enter the corporate world and climb our way up that corporate ladder.
It is a win for womankind. We can be on the same playing field as men and potentially make an income that we are proud of.
But at what cost? What are we having to reorient ourselves in order to thrive, compete, and accomplish?
The answer is simple: our feminine core and energy.
Let me give you a brief explanation on feminine energy.
Feminine energy versus Masculine Energy
While we all hold both polarities of energy within our fields, several women are more pulled to the feminine pole by nature.
Feminine energy is
- nurturing life
- mysterious energy.
While Masculine is
- moving/leaning forward
- Point A to Point B
- goal oriented
You see both energies are needed and compliment each other.
In several cases life causes us to move back and forth between these energies when the time or situation calls for it.
However, you may gravitate to one pole most of the time as that is the natural way you are wired.
Keep in mind this is not true for everyone. It is best to really look at your self and assess your unique wiring independently.
Fitting Into the Masculine Role
For a woman who has a feminine dominant core, there is a situation that happens as we enter the corporate world. We must conform and adapt to the masculine energy way of doing things to get things done!
What does this look like?
Ask yourself if you have ever felt this way.
1. When you would rather be collaborative and go with the flow, you must aggressively step up and take the lead to get promoted.
2. When you would prefer to take your time to do things, you must take action quickly to meet a high-pressure deadline.
3. When you would rather mull over a decision and process it, you are pressured to make that decision on your toes.
4. When you haven’t received a response for a request, you must hunt and be persistent in order to get what you need.
5. When you are thrown to the wolves after receiving little to no training, you must be resourceful and garner the tools you need to survive.
In a nutshell, you must be willing to be in your masculine energy the majority of the time to get things done. While those traits are still positive and are highly praised in our society…
THIS CAN SPELL WORKPLACE BURNOUT.
Those persistent urges that you feel to do, analyze, or take action to be looked at as an asset is not uncommon. This is simply you fighting against your natural feminine biorhythm in a corporate world where masculine energy dominates.
After doing this for some time, that feminine part of you begins to slowly fade away like an old Polaroid collecting dust and stuffed into a closet.
Don’t get me wrong. Without masculine energy, things would not move forward. We need masculine energy. We need balance.
However feminine energy is a power that must be valued and treasured. Amid our hustle to be more like men in our shoulder-padded blazers, we forget this truth.
Reclaiming our Feminine During Workplace Burnout.
We must allow our feminine to serve us the way masculine energy has.
In doing so, we can avoid the level of burn out that too much masculine energy can bring.
So how does one do this?
It’s starts by coming back to your self.
By understanding your apparent worth as a woman, you can break this cycle of needing to prove your value in a masculine world.
Rewiring Your Beliefs to Increase Feminine Energy
There are certain truths you can begin to adopt within your mindset that will actively start that process within you. Read these truths to reclaim your feminine.
1. You are valuable because you exist. No matter what you do or do not do, your value is still infinite.
2. Your womb is the nurturer of life. That principle alone makes you more valuable than any deadline you could ever meet.
3. The Goddess was never outside of you. You are the Goddess and the Goddess is within you.
4. Feminine energy is highly magnetic, you do not have to “force things” to happen in order for them to happen. You already have the inherent ability for what is desired to come to you.
5. You don’t need to prove your worth by getting promoted. Your infinite nature already proves that you can create worlds.
In addition to rewiring your psyche, you can incorporate self-care activities throughout the week in order to help combat workplace burn out.
Showing your self how much you matter through self-care will help to establish and reinforce your inherent value.
Inner-stand that although it is beneficial to use your masculine energy in the corporate world, your feminine energy is calling to be balanced along with it.
Feminine leadership in the workplace is slowly starting to be recognized as people see the benefits of what feminine energy can bring.
Feminine energy is magical.
We must remember that we are the goddess energy made manifest in the flesh. We must not neglect this part of us rather reawaken and return it to its rightful place on the throne.
